Hubert Aouattah

Hubert Aouattah is a composer based in Los Angeles. He earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Applied and Interactive Composition from the Royal Conservatory of Mons in Belgium. In 2023, he participated in the Chigiana Film Scoring Intensive Program, where he deepened his skills in storytelling through music.
In 2025, Hubert completed a Master’s degree in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California (USC), where he collaborated on over 15 short films. Among these projects, he worked repeatedly with some directors, developing strong creative relationships. These collaborations enriched his experience as a team player and significantly shaped his musical language and approach to scoring picture. Hubert is fascinated by movies and has been deeply impacted by movies from directors like Christopher Nolan, Sam Mendes, Damien Chazelle, ... A lot of movies have shaped his composer's journey, such as TENET, La La Land, Ratatouille, American Beauty and much more. Hubert is always looking forward to talking about movies, having been more recently deeply impacted by Sinners, Lion, Get Out and tons of more cinematic masterpieces.
His music is always in service of the picture, and he is deeply passionate about working in the film and media industry. His creative approach centers on finding a unique sound signature for each project, using thematic development and experimentation with live instruments in unconventional ways to support narrative and emotional depth.
