Giovanni Zanaroli — known artistically as Novecento — is an Italian composer and producer currently pursuing his Master's in Screen Scoring at the USC Thornton School of Music. Classically trained in piano at the Conservatory of Bologna, where he also graduated with honors in Applied Music for Film, Animation and Multimedia, he draws inspiration from composers and artists including Maurice Ravel, Ennio Morricone, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Ludwig Göransson and Floating Points.

In 2021, Giovanni founded TOLÀ Studio in Bologna, where he has spent the past five years composing, arranging and producing music released through Sony Music, Universal Music, Warner Chappell and Epic Records. His scoring credits include a full orchestral rescoring of Disney/Pixar's La Luna, recorded with Orchestra Senzaspine, along with the original works The Trial and Aliens, which won him first prize in the International Film Scoring category at the 2025 Narnia Festival.

His approach to scoring begins with identifying what makes a project distinct — its emotional core, its visual identity — and translating that into a sound palette suited to the medium. A background that spans both classical training and contemporary production allows him to bring original, custom solutions to each project he takes on.

Whether scoring for albums, live performances, or film, collaboration has always been at the heart of Giovanni's work. He is available to score short films, thesis projects and other productions for SCA students, and welcomes the opportunity to bring someone else's vision to life.
