Maxence Repellin is a French composer, orchestrator, and conductor based in Los Angeles, currently pursuing his Master of Music in Screen Scoring at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music. Initially drawn to filmmaking in his youth, he discovered his true storytelling voice at the piano, merging a cinematic visual instinct with a versatile, high-energy musical palette.

With over thirty short film scores to his credit, Maxence brings a strong foundation across both traditional and modern music. He graduated with first-prize honors in contemporary composition and screen scoring from the Conservatoire de Marseille under renowned composer Régis Campo, following classical piano studies. He went on to earn a master’s degree in music applied to visual arts (MAAAV) in Lyon, where he also received a direct commission to compose and conduct an original orchestral work at the Beaux-Arts Museum of Lyon.

In 2025, Maxence was named a finalist in the International Competition OST Challenge, where his orchestral work was performed by the Auvergne National Orchestra at the Clermont-Ferrand Opera-Theatre. His work has also been showcased at the 2025 and 2026 Music & Cinema Marseille International Festival, participating in Jérôme Rebotier’s screen scoring masterclass and featuring in the closing ceremony’s cine-concert.

Drawing harmonic and thematic depth from classical masters like Rachmaninoff and Shostakovich, cinematic pillars like John Williams and Joe Hisaishi, and the rhythmic force of acts like Justice and Gojira, Maxence blends grand orchestral scope with bold, modern textures. As a collaborator, he oversees every step of the scoring pipeline—from composition and orchestration to mixing and podium conducting—to craft distinct, narrative-driven scores for visual storytellers.
